The refreshed Volvo S80 is the result of an intensive dialogue between Volvo Cars' project group and the discerning customers in the premium sedan segment. "We are ready to give the competition a tough match. With the new Volvo S80, we're placing the bar at the very highest level when it comes to exclusiveness, quality and driving properties," says Volvo Cars President and CEO Stephen Odell.

The refreshed Volvo S80 is being unveiled for the very first time at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show in early March.

"However, the refreshed Volvo S80 should not just be seen, it has to be experienced. The atmosphere inside is both more comfortable and Luxurious, with an increased aura of craftsmanship. We've also made the interior more driver-oriented, not least with a new steering wheel and upgraded instruments. Our chassis and engine experts have made sure the driving experience is as exclusively attractive as the interior is."

"From the outside, the refreshed Volvo S80 looks both larger and more elegant. But we've also given it a tougher face. In Germany, they talk about the "böser blick", that is to say the front of the car should look rather menacing when it fills the rear-view mirror of the car in front," explains Volvo Cars Design Director Steve Mattin. He adds:

Steve Mattin and his team have increased the Exterior's elegant charisma with a number of details that give the Volvo S80 a lower, longer and wider stance.

The front is more distinctive with a new grille featuring the larger iron mark, which is part of the more extrovert DNA of recent Volvo models. There is also new brightwork on the air intakes, lower part of the doors and under the tail lamps.

Inside the car the spotlight is on increased exclusivity and comfort. The soft, sumptuous leather seats with their matching stitching are accompanied by door panels echoing the same trim. The super-slim floating centre stack is upgraded with a silk metal frame that emphasises its original design and enhances its exclusive feel, while simultaneously creating a design link to the recently launched

Volvo XC60.

The instruments in the refreshed Volvo S80 get exclusive aluminium dials and Volvo Cars is also launching a new generation of steering wheels. The décor trim with silk matte metal-effect finish on the four-spoke steering wheel is also found in the gear selector, around the starter button.

"It is the combination of a number of carefully thought-out details that together creates the overall aura. Since eight out of ten customers specify leather upholstery, the seats are a good example. Here we have focused on comfort by creating unbeatable seating and side support, accentuated further by the superb quality of the soft Scandinavian hide," says Steve Mattin.

Customers with more individual tastes will be able to select upholstery from the exclusive Executive range, which features classic and sober styles.

When it comes to chassis choice, Volvo Cars has developed two distinct alternatives - one with the cosseting feeling of supreme comfort and one truly dynamic for the driving pleasure soul. The comfort chassis will be offered as standard and the lowered sport chassis is offered as an option.

The Lotus Evora Carbon Concept car emphasises Lotus' motorsport pedigree, utilising beautiful high quality materials with exposed carbon fibre and plush alcantara. The striking white concept car is finished in an advanced water based pearlesent paint that contrasts with the exquisitely finished weave on the carbon fibre panels.

The head turning looks of the Lotus Evora Carbon Concept car provide a more purposeful, planted stance with the car looking lower and more aggressive. This styling direction is continued with a structural carbon fibre roof, Lotus Motorsport influenced carbon diffuser and carbon splitter. The Lotus Evora Carbon Concept car retains the same class leading handling and high tech aluminium bonded and extruded chassis of the production car.

The contemporary interior of the Lotus Evora Carbon Concept car combines the lustre of the carbon panels with perforated leather and matt alcantara. The bespoke interior uses swathes of sumptuous grey alcantara to cover the footwell, dashboard & roof. The soft texture of the leather and alcantara are juxtaposed with the hard surfaces of the carbon fibre to provide a satisfying sensory experience.

The Lotus Evora Carbon Concept car has diamond cut forged 19" alloy wheels front and rear, shod wiz Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tyres (235/35 wide front and 285/30 wide rear). The wheels and tyres give the Lotus Evora real presence filling the wheel arches and giving the car a purposeful appearance.

2013 Citroen DS Compact Coupe ..

 After the DS3 and DS4, Citroen has announced that there will more DS versions launched in the near future, including a sports car based on the Survolt concept. And now that Citroen has dropped plans for a production version of the GT Concept, the future DS sports car will be the only high performance model Citroen will offer.

We don’t expect the production model to follow the concept that closely as we have already picked up on a few changes that will be made, but we are hoping that the overall look and performance of the production model will be just as good, if not better, than the concept. And with Citroen targeting younger customers looking for more than just a simple sports car, we can only imagine that it will be.

Look for Citroen’s only sports car to debut sometime in 2012 with sales starting as early as 2013.

Exterior and Interior

Like all the other DS models, the future sports car will feature striking LED lights, a chrome-finished waistline surrounding dark tinted windows, muscular wheel arches, a tautly drawn roofline with a spoiler for added vitality, chrome rear bumper, and light cluster highlights.

For the interior Citroen will offer sports seats, a three-spoke steering wheel, high quality leather, aluminum pedal, and different other aluminum inserts.

The Engine

The Citroen Survolt which previews the future sports car is an electric vehicle powered by a 200kw electric motor. But don’t expect the same to happen for the production version. We expect to see a conventional engine under the hood of the future DS sports car.

We’d put our bets down on a turbocharged version of the 1.6 Liter four cylinder engine with around 200 HP and mated to a six speed gearbox. The sports car will be equipped with sport brakes, a performance tuned suspension, and 18" light alloy wheels.

The Competition

The future Citroen DS Compact Coupe will target models like the Peugeot RCZ or Audi TT. The Citroen model will in fact be a cheaper alternative for the TT, but will offer a more sporty appearance.
